Because of its 27th anniversary, the daily newspaper "As Beiras", has distinguished 12 individuals and institutions for their contributions in 2020. Jorge Almeida has been awarded the Innovation Trophy, due to his scientific contributions and his cutting-edge research project "ContentMap". The project was accepted for funding in 2019 by the European Research Council, which invested 1,8 million euros hoping to boost brain research. This project in particular is focused on brain mapping and understanding how the human brain organizes information about objects and how that organization allows us to quickly identify those same objects.
